Nissan Motor Co. said that it has formed a partnership with the State of Tennessee to promote electric vehicles. It will launch in the U.S. in 2010. Included in the five year deal, Nissan plans to promote electric vehicles as the centerpiece of its focus on zero-emission vehicles. Nissan said that Tennessee plans to support the infrastructure for electric vehicles, including charging stations along the state’s expressways. Nissan and the state are getting set to conduct surveys to start commercial use of the infrastructure in 2011.

Saturn Vue Plug-In Hybrid on the Road to Reality
July 24, 2008GM’s executive director oh hybrid powertrain engineering, Larrry Nitz released a statement saying that they are currently testing eleven Saturn Vue plug-in hybrid vehicles at the GM Proving Grounds. The Vue plug-in is due out in late 2010, around the same time as the Chevrolet Volt will be arriving in showrooms. When testing initially started nickel-metal hydride batteries were used, but now they are currently using lithium-ion batteries. At this stage the plug-in charge is fully operational and undergoing refinement. The Vue plug-in may not be ready for production but GM continues to make progress.

The site also informs consumers about the guarantees and peace of mind that comes when purchasing a manufacturer certified used vehicle. There has been a lot of confusion among consumers about what constitutes a certified used vehicle. GM certified used vehicles offer like-new benefits and financing options where others do not. These assurances are not offered through independent used-vehicle dealers or private parties. The goal of the website was to do something different. The site is also designed to be fun and entertaining while still getting a message out to consumers.

July 24, 2008GM has big plans for cars and crossover vehicles. Every brand will be getting a small car soon. Eighteen of the nineteen vehicles GM will introduce between now and 2010 will be wither cars or crossovers.
The new Chevrolet Cruze, which is due out in 2010, will replace the Chevrolet Cobalt. The Cruze will have a 1.4-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that will get about forty-five miles per gallon.
GM Vice Chairman Robert A. Lutz pointed out that in Europe the average transaction price per vehicle is almost $37,000. GM’s new U.S. lineup will look a lot like the European one in the coming years.

The Rogue also gets about 22 MPG city and 27 MPG highway.
2008 Chevrolet Malibu- Base Price: $19,995
Parents magazine also chose the 2008 Malibu as one of the best in the sedan category. It was chosen because of its large rear-seat pockets, antilock brakes and side-curtain air bags, as well as its strong safety numbers, heated seats, and remote start. The Malibu gets about 22 MPG city and 30 MPG highway.
