Today Nissan announced pricing on the new 2009 Nissan 370Z roadster, which was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month. The 370Z went on sale today with a starting MSRP of $29,930 for a 6-speed manual transmission model. The 7-speed automatic is priced at $31,230. The 370Z also comes in a touring model which is priced at $34,460 for a 6-speed manual and $35,760 for the 7-speed automatic.

Nissan Hybrid and Electric Cars are Coming

Nissan has recently announced that they plan on releasing an electric car and a hybrid prototype vehicle in 2010. Theses electric vehicles will be powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries. Nissan has committed to a zero-emission vehicle leadership and with this they announced the plans to introduce an all electric vehicle in 2010 and mass market globally in 2012. The batteries will be installed under the floor so that cabin and cargo space are not sacrificed. The electric vehicle will also have a unique body style and will not be based on any existing Nissan model. The hybrid vehicle will have a high performance rear-wheel drive system and parallel-power train hybrid system. The parallel-powertrain system uses two clutches, where one motor is connected to an engine and transmission via two separate clutches. The motor can switch between the two clutches to conserve energy and improve fuel-efficiency.

GM has recently debuted the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox compact crossover that was planned to debut at the Detroit Auto Show. The new engine, a 182 horsepower 2.4L direct-injection engine, is expected to deliver a best-in-segment highway fuel economy of 30MPG, which is a 25% improvement over the previous model. A 3.0L V6 engine will also be available with the direct-injection technology, and is expected to receive 25MPG highway and 18MPG city. The exterior has a new design inspired by the Chevrolet Malibu and the Chevrolet Traverse. While the interior features a number of storage bins. Nissan to Release Range of Commercial Vehicles in U.S. in 2010

According to Joe Castelli, Nissan North America’s vice president for light commercial vehicles and fleet, Nissan will be putting a small commercial vehicle on the market beginning in 2010. Nissan has recently unveiled the NV2500 commercial van, and also plans to add another smaller urban transit vehicle. The van also might be based on the same platform as the Nissan Cube which is scheduled to be in the U.S. by 2009.
